My 03 GSXR BLING BUILD!!!!

ok, been without a camera the last few weeks but i had to get one before i mounted the 300 kit. here it is, 16" over 300 kit. bought the kit used for a good deal, the bad part was that the chrome was peeling in a few spots. i figured id just leave it for this year and powder coat it next year but buy the end of the day i decided im going to take it apart and have it done before the season starts.

my first question is to those who have a big kit on there bike... what did you do with the suspension? i had a set of lowering links which i assumed wasnt going to work but tired anyways.... it was sitting HIGH!!! so i called on "famous"(member here) to see if he could make me so at the machine shop. he told me no problem but i couldnt wait so i figured i could do it with what we had at the shop i work at. found a nice piece of steal and got to work. it was the same thickness as the links so all i had to di is cut-drill-paint. came out real nice. heavier that links i had but much stronger!! so here are the first pictures of the build.........

i bought the bike with an extended 6" over swingarm but no need for that

I have an air ride that was only used about -400 miles...practicaly brand new that I would let go for a reasonable price. It makes a big difference on a streched bike with a big tire. The only reason for the sale is that it won't work with my new SS arm.

i bought it in August from a private owner, must have been from the guy who bought it from full throttle. i paid $3,000. i normally do all my own paint work but i was building this as a budget build so i figured to keep the paint, i liked the look but didnt like the flat paint so i just added 3 coats of clear to it. most of the custom parts have been stripped off and sold on ebay.

im not sure what he bought it for but he had it up on craigslist for $5500. i told him i was looking for a project build and had $3000 cash. he said no but a week later he called and said he would take the $3000!!!! he said he wanted a cruiser. big ran great!! sounds a little goofy with the slash-cut(which im changing) but i have already made $1000 on parst i have took off the bike and i still havent sold the extended swingarm off it.

most the parts i am putting on the bike i had in the back of the garage waiting for a rainy day(chrome billet mirrors, billet grips,chrome twist off gas cap, chrome heel guards, speakers, sub, tv/radio, wires) .... so besides the 300 kit i really dont have to much money in the bike.

as of right now as long as i stay away from air ride i think ill be ok. there as been alot of work at the shop so i havent had time to work on my bike. i got some stuff done on my girls bike, did a little paint work and am in the middle of extending the bike. ill post pictures up of that soon. i think im going to go in this weekend and try and get my bike back on track. i should be done with my custom undertail with 2 speakers built in and my solo cover with 1 speaker. lets hope that it all goes right!! lol

so heres what i have been workin on..... rear cowl with a 5.25", custom undertail i made with 2 5.25'' and the air ducts with 2 3" speakers. as you see i painted the cowl grille to match the pinstripe on the bike.(i think i matched it pretty good!?!? lol) i painted the undertail grilles solid red do to you cant see them when the bikes together. now the last picture is a pod that im using for my switches. it actually came out of a 06 mini cooper. it controlled the windows, fogs, abs...... i had to gut it out to make room for the toggle switches that i will be using.

i hope to have some more work done soon. this week i should be finishing up the tank/cd player ready to be mounted

When did you say that one was? It will be done for sure before july. Chicago ruff ryders our having our big event july 2-4 so it needs to be done for that. Lights are wired, srobes are wired, rear camera is wired, repadio and sub are now ready to be installed. Then just pop the fairings on.
