I came to realize that most of these HD "kits" are not "true" HD. Yesteday I talked to a freind of mine who is a builder and he explained that the lens on a bike is made only for stock lighting because how the headlight lens is shaped, triangular and cut so the light can be split and dispused in every direction. For a "true" HD to work, the lense needs to be smooth so the light is reflecting only in one way and not reflecting every which where. Question is. Does anyone know of such a kit? :blink:My freind send his lenses out to get glass beaded to become smooth.

lol... glass beading a projector lense...
that is whack.
he is doing it because the lense has dimples in to to dispurse the light so not
all of it is focused into the headlight beam pattern (cut off).
if you want "true HID" you need to be running a HID projector designed to use D1S, D2S D1R or D2R bulbs.

i dont have a hid projector headlight on my bike, but i bought a h4 to d2S mount and mounted a g35 ballast and d2s bulb. its looks like pretty true hid to me. the first hid kit i bought was one of those cheap kits and it didn't last to long and it didn't light up that good, it didn't look hid at all. ever since i switched to the infinity setup it looks good and no problems. also what i learned if you go higher than 6k in bulb temp. the light gets bluer and it doesn't light up the road as good. i picked up the d2s mount, d2s bulb, infinity g35 ballast and harness for about 120 bucks on ebay. just another option for hid
